Michelia Champacca 'Yellow Magnolia' - 5x Seeds

Michelia champacca, commonly known as Yellow Magnolia, is an evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia, particularly India, China, and the Himalayas. It is renowned for its fragrant, yellow to orange flowers that bloom in the spring or summer, often releasing a sweet, spicy scent that is highly valued in perfumes and traditional medicines. The tree's glossy, dark green leaves provide a lush backdrop to the striking flowers.

Champaca typically grows to a height of 30 to 50 feet (9 to 15 meters) in the wild but can be pruned into a smaller ornamental tree for gardens and landscapes. It prefers warm, humid climates and thrives in well-drained, slightly acidic soils, often being found in tropical and subtropical regions.

The tree is appreciated for its ornamental value, fragrant blossoms, and adaptability, but it can be sensitive to frost. Additionally, its flowers and wood are used in various cultural and medicinal practices, particularly in Asia.

Ensure temperatures are consistent and warm for germination.
Keep soil moist but not wet, consider covering your pots in cling wrap.
Use a heat mat if you live in a cooler region.
Follow growing sheet instructions contained with your order regarding 'hardening off' periods, prior to completely planting out.
