A truly beautiful stunning tree with a pure white trunk.
Japanese Birch has fine, arching branches with pendulous, silvery-green foliage made up of diamond-shaped leaves which turn golden in autumn before falling.
Its fruit are catkins and it has a benign root system that makes it ideal for lawns as it wont compete for nutrients.
Prefers cooler climates, which create the most spectacular displays in autumn.
Soil: Well drained lighter soils - either acid or alkaline - though acid soils make for taller specimens.
Maintenance: Looks after itself but likes to be watered in dry conditions.
Can be raised from seed - though they need soaking in water for 3 days before they will germinate.
Seed pack contains a minimum of 50+ seeds and germination notes
