The Jalapeno is undoubtedly the most popular and well known chilli in the Western world, and is a must-have in your garden.

Despite it most commonly being picked and consumed when still green, the Jalapeno actually matures to a vibrant red, and gets hotter as it matures. The red Jalapeno is the base of the famous Siracha chilli sauce.

The pods are thick skinned and crunchy, and the fruit measures anywhere from 3,500 - 8,000 Scoville Heat Units. 

This very attractive plant also make quite a spectacle when grown as a conservatory or patio plant.
