Cape Gooseberry ‘Golden Nugget’ (Physalis peruviana) is a compact, early-fruiting variety known for its sweet-tart, golden-orange berries enclosed in papery husks. The fruits are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, making them a nutritious and delicious addition to fruit salads, desserts, jams, or eaten fresh from the garden.

Plants grow to around 60–90 cm tall with a bushy, spreading habit, and are ideal for both garden beds and large pots. ‘Golden Nugget’ thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, producing fruit in 70–80 days from transplanting. It’s a prolific cropper and continues producing through the warmer months.
