Swainsona maccullochiana, commonly known as the Ashburton Pea is an annual from the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia and is one of the pea family related to Sturt's Desert Pea, it is a showy species.

A compact shrub which grows to 0.5-3 meters, but more typically around  1metre.

The spectacular "Ashburton Pea" would be one of the most eye catching of the Fabaceae family with large pea shaped blue-purple-pink flowers.

Prefers a light to medium well-drained soil in an open sunny position, drought resistant.
