Plantago Plantain ‘Green’ – 60-70x Seeds

Plantago ‘Purple’ is a striking ornamental form of the common plantain, grown for its rich green foliage and unique architectural shape. This hardy, low-growing perennial forms compact rosettes and produces upright flower spikes in summer, adding both colour and texture to garden beds or borders.

Plants typically grow to around 20–30 cm tall and spread to about 30 cm wide. It thrives in full sun to part shade and well-drained soil, tolerating a wide range of conditions including poor or dry soils. While mainly grown for its foliage interest, this variety can also be used in edible gardens, with young leaves occasionally used in herbal teas or salads.

A bold and easy-care addition to ornamental gardens, edging, or mixed plantings.

Well adapted to Australian conditions.
